On Republic Day several roads in the perimeter of Durban Park will be closed.
According to traffic chief Dion Moore this is to facilitate the flag raising ceremony at the Durban Park, Homestretch Avenue.
South on Vlissingen road will divert to Regent Street, vehicles proceeding North on Vlissingen road will divert to Durban street, vehicles proceeding east on Hadfield street will be diverted to college road, vehicles proceeding west on Hadfield will be diverted to chapel street, vehicles proceeding on homestretch will be diverted Mandela Avenue.
The Traffic Chief further eluded that for security reasons some roads will be closed earlier than some.
On the outskirts the timing for Hadfield street will be closing at ten for security reasons, the other locations will closed at one, when we shut off at one, vehicles will not be permitted to enter, special invitees vehicles will be parked on the tarmac of Cuffy Square and behind.
The General Public who will be attending the event are advised to park on the Cultural Centre tarmac and other safe areas on the outskirts and walk to the venue.

reminded that persons should ensure that their vehicles are well secure before leaving them unattended.
